Fannie Mae (NYSE: FNM) and Freddie Mac (NYSE: FRE) were lower on the trading session with Treasury Department spokeswoman Jennifer Zuccarelli commenting today that they have no plans to use the authorities granted under recent legislation to prop up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. (read more)
